Its unpaid so I'll have to find another part time job to pay the bills but I'll gain experience with the law.

I'm in a bramble bush. Read through this blog if you'd like an idea of what it is like to be a California Western School of Law 1L.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI'm considering Cal Western for law school next year, I'd start full time in August, and I would love to hear about your experiences there! I know blogs are pretty public, strangers like me can read them after all, but if you could shoot me an email (sasweat@gmail.com) I'll send you some of my questions/concerns/feelings.
I'm going to the scholars day in March and I hope that will help as well. I'd just really like to have some insight from someone in a less structured environment. (I know that might not make sense).
Thanks for blogging and I hope to hear from you soon!
Best,
Stephanie
I just sent you an email. Ask me anything! :)
ReplyDeletehi!
ReplyDeletemy name is eddy and I just got accepted to Cal Western as well. I heard that CalWestern's grading curve is intense and I was wondering if that had affected your intern perspective and such. Also, how were your grades as a 1L?
congrats on ur SB intern btw!
ReplyDeleteHey Eddy -
ReplyDeleteThe curve is hard and I'm not really a fan of Cal Western's curve. As far as law schools go California Western has an abnormal curve and forces out a large number of students. Law School Numbers has the attrition rate and from there you can do the math. I wrote about the curve a few posts back if you want to check it out.
The curve did not affect my internship prospects. I'm pretty content interning with the SBDA's office. Cal Western isn't great for big law jobs but it has a pretty good alumni network in San Diego.
My first semester grades weren't terrible but they also weren't what I wanted. Hopefully I can raise my GPA. I'm not really worried about failing out and I'm not worried (at least at this point) about finding a job but I'd still like to do the best I can.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
